bai Hotel Cebu bagged 2 gold medals, 2 bronze medals, 1 silver medal, and 1 diploma recognition in the recently concluded Cebu Goes Culinary 2023 held at SM Seaside City Cebu last September 30 to October 1, 2023.

In a culinary odyssey brought by the National Food Showdown and Hotel, Resort, and Restaurant Association of Cebu Inc., bai Hotel Cebu was able to clinch multiple high-level titles for their brilliant masterpieces. With this year’s theme – Malakas at Maganda: The Surge of Philippine Cuisine, an array of Filipino dishes was showcased from each chef’s unique hints of representation. Over a hundred chefs and beverage masters affiliated with different hotels, restaurants, resorts, and learning institutions gather in one prestigious event not just to compete but also to embark on new knowledge and experience to apply to their expertise. Local foodies and culinary enthusiasts were invited as well to witness the culinary extravaganza and share insights for the sake of craft in the food and beverage industry.

bai Hotel Cebu showcased remarkable achievements across multiple categories in the competition. Gaining a Diploma of Recognition in the Atchara Category are Chefs Jhorie Laranjo and Arturo Flores. Bronze Medals were won in the Cocktail Mixing with Geovanne Alcoy, and in the Sutukil Category with Chefs Tristan Laud and Mark Marqueda. For the Silver Medals, our very own pastry chefs; Chef Lychiell Alde, Chef Claire Gacera, and Chef Glory Larase excelled in the Creative Cake Decoration Category. Two Gold Medals from major categories of the event were gloriously won. Our very own Wallstreet barista, Jastine Talisic, won a Gold Medal with distinction in the Coffee Concoction category. Chefs Ryan Estrada, Jose Dizon, and Lychiell Alde snagged gold for the Klasika Moderna Culinarya category. 


With the event’s huge success, it is without a doubt that the best of Cebu’s culinary talents and creativity were effectively showcased - highlighting the diversity of Cebu in a cesspool of passionate individuals. Overall, the event highlighted the importance of the culinary industry in Cebu and served as a platform for promoting and celebrating the region's unique food culture. It was a truly unforgettable experience for all who attended.

Conducted every Monday throughout July 2026 (July 6, 13, 20, and 27), the month-long feeding program provided consistent, nutritious meals to 30 enrolled children at Umapad Daycare Center IV, located at the Mandaue Green Learning Park in Barangay Umapad, Mandaue City.

Fueled by determination and camaraderie, Team bai Hotel Cebu celebrated a successful run at the HRRACI Sportsfest 2026 with a gold medal, multiple podium finishes, and strong performances across various competitions, proudly showcasing the passion, teamwork, and excellence that define the bai spirit. Throughout the tournament, Team bai brought energy and enthusiasm to every event, representing bai Hotel Cebu with pride both on and off the playing field. The competition culminated on July 12 in a vibrant celebration of sportsmanship and camaraderie among Cebu’s hospitality community, where Team bai's achievements reflected the dedication and unity of its athletes, performers, and support team. The final day also featured a meaningful tribute to the late Alfred Reyes, former Vice President for Operations and General Manager of bai Hotel Cebu. At the heart of the commemoration was the Alfred Reyes’s Cup, a basketball exhibition match between the City All-Stars and Island All-Stars, honoring his enduring legacy and contributions to the hospitality industry. Among Team bai's notable achievements were a championship finish in Mixed Badminton, second-place honors in Cheerdance and Ms. HRRACI, and a third-place finish in Table Tennis. The team likewise advanced to the semifinals in Men’s Volleyball and the quarterfinals in Mobile Legends, demonstrating competitive excellence across a diverse range of events. More than the medals and accolades, Team bai’s participation embodied the values of unity, resilience, and teamwork that continue to drive bai Hotel Cebu’s culture of excellence. As the curtains closed on another successful HRRACI Sportsfest, Team bai once again proved that the bai spirit shines brightest when people come together with a shared goal and unwavering support for one another. Organized by the Hotel, Resort and Restaurant Association of Cebu, Inc. (HRRACI), the Sportsfest is a biennial gathering that brings together hospitality professionals from across Cebu through friendly competition, fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, and camaraderie beyond the workplace.
