Have you ever been so curious about the art of coffee-making and how baristas work their magic to create our daily caffeine fix? 

 

Coffee enthusiasts can look forward to an exciting event as bai Hotel Cebu and Wallstreet Coffee + Bar join forces with Curve Coffee Collaborators to present Coffee Caravan. This all-day workshop promises to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of everything related to coffee.

 

Mark your calendars for an exciting workshop on December 2, 2023, where you can dive into the fundamentals and expand your knowledge. The Coffee Caravan at bai Hotel Cebu, a Cebu hotel, will feature two (2) courses, the first course will run from 9 AM to 12 NN and the second course will be from 2 PM to 5 PM.

 

First course is Barista 101, here one can learn the basics of being a barista from exploring the equipment and of course the essentials of coffee and the qualities of a true barista.

 

Second course is Manual Brewing. The phenomenon of manual coffee brewing refers to the utilization of hand-operated apparatus to produce coffee, as opposed to reliance on electrically powered machinery. The manual brewing techniques will be discussed as well. 

 

The training is priced at Php 6,000 nett per person, which already includes morning snacks, a lunch buffet at CAFÉ bai on the day of the training, afternoon snacks, a coffee kit, and a certificate.

Expanding its commitment to community-driven sustainability, bai Hotel Cebu has officially partnered with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Mandaue City Jail Female Dormitory to launch an income-generating hydroponic garden initiative inside the BJMP facility. The collaboration was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between representatives of bai Hotel Cebu and the leadership of the BJMP-Mandaue City Jail Female Dormitory. Under the bai for Life sustainability program, the initiative establishes a direct pipeline between the facility’s agricultural output and the hotel’s culinary operations. Managed directly by Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs), the hydroponic garden serves as a hands-on platform for rehabilitation, vocational training, and skill-building. The produce harvested from the vertical garden system will be purchased directly by bai Hotel Cebu to supply its dining outlets, guaranteeing a reliable market for the crops.
